Our billing policy is to encourage clients, in appropriate circumstances, to consider alternative billing structures, including blended rates, fixed fees and, on a case-by-case basis, fees contingent or partially contingent on the outcome of the case or transaction.

Our litigation practice emphasizes the importance of thorough trial preparation.  We believe that being prepared and willing to try a case creates the strongest settlement position, as well as the highest likelihood of a favorable trial disposition.  We regard the litigation process as involving an ongoing business judgment whether to settle or continue the case, taking into account the inherent uncertainty of a trial outcome, and the certain, high costs of litigation. We also advocate the use of mediation and alternative dispute resolution to reduce the cost and time required to resolve disputes, and hope for (but do not expect) personal reconciliation of the disputing parties. David Greber is a court-approved mediator in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, Maryland.
